Optimizing electric conductivity of innovative Al-Cu laminated composites via thermomechanical treatment

For their advantageous combinations of properties, metallic clad composites are popular in numerous commercial and industrial branches. This study deals with measurement optimization electric properties innovative self-designed Al-Cu laminated composites, fabricated by the cold rotary swaging method, via thermomechanical processing. The bimetallic laminates room-temperature swaged down to diameter 10 mm subsequently subjected two types heat treatments, effects which investigated characterization deformation behaviours component metals, structure observations, measurements characteristics microhardness. results showed that were affected not only grain size preferential texture orientations, but also presence bimodal grains distribution, accumulated dislocations, twins. highest conductivity (specific resistivity 20.6 (?m) × 10?9) and, simultaneously, hardness was observed for sample featuring size, high density partial restoration. On other hand, effect applied treatment opposite, respect temperature reduction ratio.
